The 2020 the Financial Markets Quality Conference was held from November 16 through November 20. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was held virtually. The theme was The Future of Global Finance in Addressing Societal Challenges and featured speakers such as David Rubenstein (The Carlyle Group), Stacey Cunningham (New York Stock Exchange), and two SEC Commissioners. The week-long conference brought together corporate leaders, policymakers, market participants, and scholars to discuss critical issues related to global finance.
The third day of the Financial Markets Quality Conference’s second event was the Markets in Motion panel discussion. This year’s participants included Tal Cohen, executive vice president at Nasdaq; Chris Concannon, president and COO of MarketAxess; Bryan Harkins, executive vice president and co-head of markets at CBOE; and Nandini Sukumar, chief executive of WFE. This panel was moderated by James J. Angel, associate professor of finance at the Georgetown McDonough School of Business.
