Michael Sapozhnikov is a student in the Walsh School of Foreign Service studying International Economics and Mathematics. He is originally from Ambler, Pennsylvania. Michael is particularly interested in how financial policy shapes globalization, especially in a world of digital economies. In addition, he is passionate about applying analytics and quantitative methods to model market trends. He is excited to participate in the FinPolicy Trek to better understand how decisions are made at the highest level, including both the process of shaping and implementing policy, as well as how market actors analyze and react to shifting market dynamics in real time. On campus, Michael is a research assistant at the Psaros Center, where he works with visiting fellows to publish research that analyzes the impact of financial policy on current market trends. He is also heavily involved in Theta Investment Group, Georgetown’s student run complex investment group that specializes in options and derivatives. In his free time, Michael enjoys playing soccer on the men’s club team, running around the monuments, or reading on the front lawn.
