Ishita Birmani (B’27) is a student at the McDonough School of Business. Originally from Fairfax, Virginia, Birmani plans on majoring in finance and international business with a minor in either statistics or biology. On campus, she is involved in the Georgetown University Student Investment Fund and the Georgetown Student Capital Partners. These two clubs have allowed Birmani to explore her interest in finance while learning more about macro trends, modeling, and teamwork. She also been very involved with the Psaros Center where she has volunteered for large conferences and attended weekly discussions about current market trends. Birmani is particularly interested in the intersection between policy and financial markets, which is something she has explored through her own research, as well as through organizations such as the Psaros Center. Birmani is interested in exploring these fields jointly because she wants to hear more from both the public and private sides and see how they interact with each other. Moreover, Birmani is eager to learn more about how the uptake of AI is going to impact regulatory frameworks regarding finance.
