Cindy Reyes (B’26) is a first-generation Latina at Georgetown University. She is driven by a passion for empowering minority communities through financial literacy. Her journey began with witnessing firsthand the stark disparities in financial knowledge between people of different backgrounds. This ignited a desire to delve deeper into the world of finance and policy and ultimately bridge this gap. Reyes’ academic pursuits reflect this commitment. She is pursuing a unique dual bachelor’s degree in international business, language, and culture, alongside a minor in tech, ethics, and society. This combination equips Reyes to understand the complexities of finance within a global landscape while keeping ethical considerations at the forefront. Through the FinPolicy Trek Scholar program, her goal is to inspire and empower others. By equipping minorities with financial literacy, she aims to foster a more equitable and inclusive financial future. The FinPolicy Trek is a crucial step in this journey. Reyes is eager to not only close the knowledge gap but also ignite a movement of financial ownership within minority communities.
