Today, the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy had the honor of hosting Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook for a timely and insightful discussion on financial resilience and vulnerabilities.
In her remarks and moderated conversation with Reena Aggarwal, Governor Cook highlighted three key areas of emerging vulnerability in the financial system:
- Asset valuations
- The structural shift in lending toward private credit and away from traditional bank financing
- The expanding role of hedge funds as major investors in the U.S. Treasury market
Following the conversation, Governor Cook joined Georgetown University McDonough School of Business faculty and students for a luncheon that sparked thoughtful dialogue on the future of financial stability.
We’re grateful for her visit and for the opportunity to learn from forward-looking perspectives on markets and policy.
