Last night, the Georgetown Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy hosted its annual Careers in Finance: Educational and Networking Event.
The event opened with a book presentation on Mastering the Corporate Chess Game by Cynthia Groves, setting the stage for an engaging panel discussion.
This year’s panel featured an impressive lineup of Georgetown alumni:
- Cameron Deen (B’21), Investment Banking Associate, Goldman Sachs
- Dave Khalsa (MBA’12), Managing Director, JPMorganChase
- Isabel Singal (B’18), Private Equity Senior Associate, Blackstone
- Meghan Grant Swiber (B’13), Managing Director, Bank of America
Moderated by Professor Lee Pinkowitz, the conversation offered valuable insights into navigating the finance industry. Panelists spoke about the importance of tapping into Georgetown’s network and resources, the critical role mentorship has played in their careers, and what they look for in new recruits. They also discussed how AI is reshaping the way they work, the growing emphasis on emotional intelligence in high-stakes roles, and the ability to clearly articulate one’s thought process as a key differentiator in the field.
Following the panel, students had the opportunity to personally connect with the speakers during a networking reception, continuing the conversation in a more informal and engaging setting.
Thank you to our panelists, attendees, and everyone who made the evening a success!
