For the third consecutive year, the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy held its annual Undergraduate Stock Pitch Competition. Graduate students from the Georgetown University Graduate Investment Fund judged the first round of applications and ultimately selected six teams of finalists to move forward to the round of in-person pitching. This platform provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their entrepreneurial and research-driven investment strategies before a panel of leading industry judges.
This year, six teams presented their buy, each exhibiting a compelling stock pitch within an 18-minute time frame. The stocks analyzed included Caesar’s Entertainment, Vertiv Holdings, Gildan Activewear Inc., Portillo’s, ASML Holding, and Rheinmetall.
The judging panel—composed of esteemed Hoya alumni Thomas Bianco (B’77), Noelle Verity Koetje (B’91, P’26), and Eric Jordan (B’99, P’26,’28)—evaluated the teams based on the strength of their investment thesis, depth of quantitative and qualitative analysis, clarity of presentation, and ability to respond to Q&A.
Following each pitch, the judges provided invaluable feedback, offering insights that ensured all participants were left with a meaningful learning experience.
Andrea Khoury (B’26) reflected, “It was really helpful to hear feedback from the judges, whose Q&A helped us gain valuable insight into how they think about evaluating companies and investments in the real world.”
After much deliberation, the winning team was announced: Michelle Chen (B’27), Andrea Khoury (B’26), Tyler Lee (B’26), and Owen Lodder (B’26, SFS’26), who presented a buy for ASML Holding and won the $2,500 cash prize.
“Presenting to a panel of investment professionals with decades of experience is always an enriching experience, and the judges had really helpful commentary on structuring pitches that I think we can all take with us to future pitches and as we begin our careers,” shared winner Tyler Lee.
The competition concluded with a networking reception, allowing students to engage further with judges, fellow competitors, and faculty supporters, including Professors Claire Liang and Lee Pinkowitz.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and impressive presentations, and a special congratulations to this year’s champions!
