Bernie Steinki (B’28) is a sophomore in the McDonough School of Business, pursuing double majors in finance and accounting. He is originally from Bethesda, Maryland, where he graduated from Gonzaga College High School, and in his free time, he works as an aftercare tutor at Holy Trinity and enjoys playing IM sports. On campus, he is an active member of the Georgetown University Student Investment Fund (GUSIF) and serves as a research assistant at the Psaros Center. His interest in the intersection of financial markets and public policy was sparked during a high school internship at the European Parliament, where he researched the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and its impact on financial ecosystems. This experience, combined with his work at the Psaros Center, urged him to apply for the FinPolicy Trek as it offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore how firms strategically adapt to regulatory frameworks while engaging directly with federal policymakers and industry professionals.
