Ahlay Hussain is a Healthcare Management & Policy major with a minor in Science, Technology, and International Affairs. Based in New York City, she is passionate about the intersection of finance, policy, and healthcare. On campus, Hussain serves as the Director of Fundraising for Project RISHI, where she leads cross-border partnerships with NGOs and organizes sustainable health initiatives in rural India. She focuses on securing funding for public health projects, particularly those addressing menstrual and nutritional wellness. Beyond Georgetown, Hussain has conducted research at Weill Cornell Medicine, where she leveraged data-driven tools to enhance hospital efficiency and financial management. She has also developed strategies to improve medical literacy, drawing from her experience in the emergency room. Additionally, she serves on the board of Hoyas for Human Rights, exploring the intersections of migration, displacement, and global finance. Her engagement with healthcare financial structures has strengthened her belief in the power of economic policy to drive sustainable, equitable change. She is eager to participate in the FinPolicy Trek to explore further how financial markets influence healthcare systems and to engage with industry leaders shaping policy-driven finance. Outside of academics, Hussain enjoys photography, exploring new cafes, and all things theater.
