Carson Olsen (B’26) is an undergraduate student at the McDonough School of Business, majoring in accounting and marketing. He is also a Global Business Fellow.. Originally from southern California, Olsen lacked direct exposure to finance and public policy growing up, but these fields have since become a driving force in his academic and extracurricular pursuits. Georgetown has provided him with the perfect platform to explore his interests through his coursework and involvement in campus organizations. Currently, he serves as the head of competition outreach for the McDonough Global Case Team, an executive for the Georgetown University Alumni and Student Federal Credit Union, and a senior analyst in the Georgetown University Student Investment Fund. Opportunities such as the FinPolicy Trek are the reason why he chose to come to Georgetown. Olsen knew he would not only gain a strong education in business but also unparalleled exposure to policy in the nation’s capital. According to Olsen, the FinPolicy Trek is an incredible opportunity to delve into the intersection of finance and public policy and he looks forward to the invaluable learning it will provide as he explores potential career paths at the convergence of these fields.
