Who We Are
Reena Aggarwal is the Robert E. McDonough Professor of Business Administration and Finance; and director, Georgetown Center for Financial Markets and Policy. Aggarwal specializes in international stock markets, initial public offerings, and corporate governance. She has worked on major consulting projects sponsored by Credit Suisse, Wachovia, the World Bank, IMF, Nasdaq, United Nations, and USAID. Aggarwal obtained an MMS from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India, and her Ph.D. in finance from the University of Maryland.
John Jacobs is the executive director and distinguished fellow of the Center for Financial Markets and Policy. Prior to this role, he served more than 30 years at Nasdaq where he worked with institutional investors, IPOs, and top global public companies, including most recently in his roles as executive vice president of global information services and chief marketing officer. Currently, he serves as an executive advisor and principal consultant to Nasdaq’s CEO, president, and the executive vice president of global information services. Jacobs earned an MBA from Loyola University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.

Lee Pinkowitz is Associate Professor of Finance at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. Professor Pinkowitz arrived at Georgetown in 1999 after receiving his Ph.D from The Ohio State University. Professor Pinkowitz is an award winning researcher in the areas of corporate cash holdings and corporate governance. His research has been published in top finance journals and is widely cited. Along with co-authors, he has won the Jensen prize for best paper published in the Journal of Financial Economics and the William F. Sharpe Award for Scholarship in Financial Research, for the best paper published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. Professor Pinkowitz has won the annual MBA Distinguished Teaching Award four times and the Joseph F. LeMoine Award for Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching Excellence twice.
Anna Kormis is the assistant director of the Center for Financial Markets and Policy. She is responsible for the center’s digital and printed communications, website, social media, and planning and executing events. In addition, Kormis manages the center’s undergraduate and graduate student staff. Previously, she worked with students and faculty at Georgetown University’s Law Center as part of the Records Office. Kormis graduated from Emory & Henry College in 2016 with dual degrees in mass communications and environmental studies with supplemental studies in England and Belize.
